I was fortunate enough to photograph the Belanger Family this weekend - what a great family! I had such an awesome time with them on the beach. As usual here are my favorite shots, I couldn't decide on three so I have posted four photos.

I love the expression of the boys in this shot, they look so happy and content with their mum.

The photo above is one of the common poses for families whenever I photograph on Seven Mile Beach. Its a regular because it always turns out so well with the contrast of the trees in the background.

No matter how many times I do this, it never gets old...

This is a classic pose for families with young kids. The shades help in preventing the young ones from squinting.

The jump shot is a bit more difficult for young kids below 8 years old. But I try my best to really snap every second of it so that the timing is right and I am sure everyone off the ground.

The freestyle jump when you jump like no one is watching. What i loved about doing this shoot is that they said to me afterwards, "this was the best photoshoot ever" - thank you!

The Super Family comes to visit Seven Mile Beach

I received an email from someone who had seen my work online and since they were already on island - it was easy to make arrangements for the beach shoot. I was thrilled to see two teenaged boys who could do the beach fight jumps but more than that, its great to photograph a family that is game to do anything. I love, love, love this "Super Friends" shot.

Below is the usual beach family portrait on Seven Mile Beach... but no matter how common this shot it, families usually find a way to make it unique. I love the way Liam has his legs stretched out in front of the photo.

The third shot that I have chosen for Michelle's family is when the 3 big boys did a water jump. I think this is the first time that I have done this kind of pose and it is pretty cool.

The thing is, I want to upload more from this set but I have a kazillion things to do and must leave it at that. I hope they enjoyed the shoot as much as I did.

Cayman Photography: A blog site for my website

I preach about this every day, "write a blog, write a blog!" And although I already have a blog for my day job, I figured it was about time that I created a blog about my photography. In my other blog, I talk about SEO in the Cayman Islands, which is such a limited topic. In this blog, I am planning not to plan - to write about the people I meet and why I love living in Grand Cayman and photographing the many visitors who come for their annual vacation.

Here is an example, I received this email from my website inquiry about my photography services:

Comment: Hi there. I really like your work. The beach jumps look like a ton of fun and I dig your style -- an FAQ with a sense of humor? Who does that? Errr, what I mean is, why don't more people do that? I know it's a little last-minute, but we're traveling to GC tomorrow through July 9th. I'd LOVE to surprise my wife by scheduling a shoot with you. We're a family of five (in addition to me and the missus, there's two boys: 8 and 6, and a girl who'se almost 3).

The email inquiry above made me smile and of course I replied to him and we planned on a time and place. They showed up in cute matching outfits... Here are a bunch of photos we did on July 4th, 2011. I always have a great time on the beach with a beautiful family.
